Dynamical Analysis of Human Walking

چکیده

The inverse dynamics approach is commonly adopted in a human gait analysis. Displacements of the human body segments and ground reaction forces are known from measurements. The joint reaction forces and muscle net torques (which cannot be measured directly) are calculated. Since the ground reaction forces are known it is not necessary to model the foot-ground contact. The inverse dynamics approach requires measured displacements to be differentiated twice in order to obtain accelerations. The choice of filtering and smoothening methods affects significantly the obtained results (Allard et al., 1995, Vint & Hinrichs, 1996). The errors in alignment of ground reaction force and foot affect the results as well (McCaw & DeVita, 1995).

Proposing a 2D Dynamical Model for Investigating the parameters Affecting Whiplash Injuries

This paper proposes a 2D dynamical model for evaluating parameters affecting whiplash. In fact a four segment dynamical model is developed in the sagittal plane for the analysis. The model response is validated using the existing experimental data and is shown to simulate the "S-Shape" and "initial upward ramping" kinematics of the cervical spine and the resulting dynamics observed in human and...

Visual Lifting Approach for Bipedal Walking with Slippage

Biped locomotion generated by control methods based on Zero-Moment Point (ZMP) has been achieved and its efficacy for stable walking, where ZMP-based walking does not include the falling state, has been verified extensively. The walking control that does not depend on ZMP – we call it dynamical walking – can be used in walking that utilizes kicks by toes, which looks natural but is vulnerable t...

Analyses of Humanoid Visual Lifting Biped-walking and Spontaneous Arms’ Swinging by Dynamical Coupling

Biped locomotion created by a controller based on Zero-Moment Point [ZMP] known as reliable control method looks different from human’s walking on the view point that ZMP-based walking does not include falling state. However, the walking control that does not depend on ZMP is vulnerable to turnover. Therefore, keeping the walking of dynamical motion stable is inevitable issue for realization of...

From Passive Dynamic Walking to Passive Turning of Biped walker

Dynamically stable biped robots mimicking human locomotion have received significant attention over the last few decades. Formerly, the existence of stable periodic gaits for straight walking of passive biped walkers was well known and investigated as the notion of passive dynamic walking. This study is aimed to elaborate this notion in the case of three dimensional (3D) walking and extend it f...

Some Results In Passive-Dynamic Walking

Human walking can be approximated as a mechanical process governed by Newton’s laws of motion, and not controlled. Tad McGeer first demonstrated, and we have confirmed, that a two-dimensional legged mechanism with four moving parts can exhibit stable, human-like walking on a range of shallow slopes with no actuation and no control (energy lost in friction and collisions is recovered from gravit...

A Limit Cycle Analysis of the Simplest Passive Dynamic Walker

Passive dynamic walkers (PDWs) are simple dynamical systems that have been used to study the fundamentals of normal human walking. In essence, they are a collection of links and joints capable of “walking” down shallow slopes with a surprisingly human-like gait. PDWs have no active motors or control system, rather they are “powered” by gravity. With judicious choice of model parameters and init...
